The Splat Floor Lamp, standing at 5.5 feet tall, consists of five sections. After assembly and partial drying, three stained clay slips are flung onto the form in layers, resulting in a color scheme that feels both deliberate and spontaneous. Once fired, the 24k gold overglaze is meticulously hand-painted and fired again, evoking the sensation of a golden explosion.
